Frequently Asked Questions

What should I bring to class?

Bring a yoga mat and wear comfortable exercise clothes.
We recommend nothing too loose or baggy because it can become a distraction during your practice.  Be prepared to practice in your bare feet (shoes are removed prior to entering the yoga room) unless taking a restorative class, where socks are encouraged.  

 

Do I need to be flexible to practice yoga?
No experience or flexibility is required to practice Yoga.  We are all working to become flexible and maintain that movement in our bodies.

Can I eat before class?
We recommend practicing on an empty stomach.  Or at least two hours after eating.

Do I need a mat for class?

Yes, you will need a mat.  If you are just starting out and don't have a mat, you can borrow one.  We also have mats available for purchase.

I am a beginner, what classes are right for me? 

Begin is the perfect class for you!  In this class, we give our students one-on-one attention at a slower pace.

Can I bring water to class?
Yes, it is important to stay hydrated especially in summer months.

 

Do the teachers make physical adjustments to the students?  
Most of the adjustments we suggest are verbal.  Sometimes a physical adjustment is offered.    

 

​What if I am not comfortable with physical adjustments?
Adjustments are very personal.  Whether or not you are open to adjustments can change depending on the place you are in each day.  If you prefer no physical adjustments during your practice, please place one of our “no thanks” cards on your mat to let our teachers know.
